Market Access for KNCCI Members in Changsha, China

Dr. Erick Rutto, President of KNCCI, hosted a delegation from Changsha, China, led by Peng Huasong, Executive Deputy Mayor of Changsha Municipal People’s Government. The delegation, consisting of 12 business.

The businesses expressed interest in importing avocados, rubber, macadamia nuts, coffee, and sesame from Kenya. Additionally, they showed interest in establishing industrial parks for automobile manufacturing and research and development centers to enhance Kenya’s dairy industry.

Dr. Rutto facilitated introductions between Kenyan and Chinese businesses to explore potential collaborations. He also reiterated KNCCI’s commitment to gaining market access for its members, requesting assistance from the Mayor in opening up the chili and beef market for Kenyan producers and emphasizing Kenya’s readiness to meet China’s market demands.

The Mayor expressed gratitude for KNCCI’s collaboration and invited them to participate in the China Africa event in 2025. This meeting signifies a significant step towards strengthening trade ties between Kenya and Changsha, China, fostering mutual economic growth and development.
